Answer: Yes, we provide removal of appliances (refrigerators, stoves, washer/dryers etc.), lawn & garden equipment (lawn mowers, snowblowers, tractors etc.), boilers, hot water tanks and above ground oil tanks. You Name It, We'll Scrap It. Depending on the amount of scrap metal you have, some jobs are done Free!

3. Do you recycle?

 

Answer: Absolutely. Materials which are capable of being recycled are sorted and sent to various recycling facilities. All remaining non-recyclable material is disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

 

4. What's the process to remove my 275 Gallon Oil Tank?

 

Answer: Massachusetts law mandates specific requirements for the removal of an above ground oil tank. Trotta & Son performs all work in compliance with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Fire Services-Board of Fire Prevention and in accordance with the provisions of M.G.L. Chapter 148, Section 38A, 527, CMR 9.00.

 

  • A permit must be obtained from your local Fire Dept.

  • The oil tank must be cut and cleaned (oil/sludge removed)

  • A Fire Department official must inspect and approve the oil tank before it can be removed from your property

  • The oil tank must be brought to a state approved tank disposal yard

 

The entire process of removing an above ground oil tank usually only takes a few hours. Time will vary depending on the location of the tank and the amount of oil remaining.
